VICE CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE TO LASU CONTINGENT TO ALL AFRICA UNIVERSITY GAMES

                                       My dear members of Team LASU and the officials,

Let me express my immense pride at your impressive outing at the just concluded 10th All Africa University Games at Kenyatta University,  Nairobi, where you finished on the medals table with a total of 1 gold, four silver and 5 bronze medals.

Your outing delights me, especially against the backdrop of a not-too impressive performance at the NUGA games, which held earlier in the year. By your performance,  you have exemplified a never-say-die spirit, hardwork and commitment to the LASU project.  You proved that one could rise after a fall and that indeed, form is temporary and class is permanent.

I give you kudos for representing our great university well, and putting her name and that of the country on the African map in Sports. Your performance gives actuality to the attainment of the sixth strategic goal of our administration, which is to promote participation in sports and recreational activities.

I am convinced that with the right support,  you will do more for the university in future challenges; I can assure you that you won’t be lacking is support. We will continue to give you the right facilities to enhance and sharpen your skills without forgetting to reward you, when necessary.

I also thank the officials of our university to the games, led by the deputy vice chancellor,  academic, Prof. Wahab Omikorede Elias, and the chief coach, Idowu Owoyemi for leading the team to success. Your hardwork will not be forgotten.
