PROF. IBIYEMI OLATUNJI-BELLO NAMED HIGHER EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR AT NATIONAL EDUCATION AWARDS.

 

The leadership exploits of Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, in the institution has again attracted accolades from stakeholders in the education sector in the country, with her award, on Sunday, as Higher Education Administrator of the Year, 2022.
The award, conferred on her at the National Education Summit and Awards, 2022 organised by Education Advancement and Innovation, an Abuja-Based educational management organization, held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island on Sunday 17th July, 2022, in the presence of the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisoye and other stakeholders in the education sector at the state and federal levels.
According to the organisers, Prof. Olatunji-Bello was honoured in recognition of her outstanding contributions to higher education in the country through exceptional programmes, innovative services, snd effective administration of Lagos State University, emerging the sole winner at the tertiary education level. Schools at the primary and secondary levels were also honoured for their outstanding impact in the year.
The award followed a national education summit at the same event where experts in the sector spoke on the theme “Remodelling Education for 21st Century Relevance: Pathway for Nigeria Education Sector” shortly after the Keynote Address delivered by the Commissioner for Education in Lagos State.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied to receive her award by senior officials of the administration including members of the university management and aides at the colourful ceremony. She thanked the organisers for finding her worthy of the accolade even when she least expected it, noting that it would further energize her in the pursuit of the vision of making the university the best in the West Africa region.
