Uk's Aston University And Lasu Moot Collaboration Discussions

A leading British University based in Birmingham, the United Kingdom, Aston University, on Wednesday 15th November 2023 entered into a partnership discussion with Lagos State University, Ojo as representatives of the two institutions held a fruitful deliberation at the office of the Vice Chancellor of LASU.

The host, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, while welcoming the two-man team from Aston University, expressed the readiness of the leading state university in Nigeria to embrace a partnership that would further internationalise it. The VC was joined at the collaboration conversation by members of the University Management and officials of the Directorate of Linkages, Partnerships and Collaborations, led by the director, Prof. Kabir Akinyemi.

Prof. Akinyemi, while speaking on his directorate’s role in actualising the dialogue, said LASU’s meeting with Aston was facilitated based on the latter’s reputation for excellence in research. He expressed optimism that Aston University has the resources and experience to create a partnership with far-reaching benefits with LASU.

Dr. Amara Ajaegbu, programme director for MSc. Information Systems and Business Analytics at Aston University, who led the Aston team to LASU, expressed optimism at the collaboration given the huge potentials in LASU. She assured that her institution would work with LASU to promote research and innovation in the institution.

Recall that Aston University partnered with the Department of English Language to hold a symposium on Preventing Sexual Violence on University Campuses in Nigeria earlier this month. The Symposium was facilitated by Dr. Olawunmi Oni-Buraimoh, who was also at the meeting, on Wednesday.
