VC Eid-El-Kabir

VICE CHANCELLOR’S EID KABIR MESSAGE

Dear members of the Lagos State University community,Today is the Eid Kabir, a festival celebrated worldwide by muslim brothers and sisters to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.On all accounts, the Eid Kabir is one of the most significant days to mankind, and I therefore express my profound felicitations with all our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Lagos State University community for being living witnesses to this day. I also thank the Almighty Allah for his mercies that has brought each and everyone of us this far in the year.As you celebrate, I urge you to be more devoted to God in obedience following in the steps of the great prophet. Our sacrifices to God can only be meaningful when offered from a pious and reverent heart.I also urge you to see the celebrations that come with the Eid as an opportunity to show love and compassion to others by sharing your sacrificial animals with family, friends and those in need. It should therefore be done in modesty and not as a way to show off. Finally, use the occasion of this great festival to pray for our university to continue to make unhindered progress. Also, remember our State and most especially, the nation in your prayer at this trying times because Nigeria needs our prayers now more than ever.I pray that the peace and blessings of the Almighty Allah be upon us and ours, now and always. Amen.We are LASU, we are great!Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mniVice Chancellor.
