ZERO TOLERANCE FOR SOCIAL IMMORALITIES INITIATIVE (ZETSI) AFRICA PAYS ADVOCACY VISIT TO THE VICE-CHANCELLOR…honours her with a certificate of credence

A 4-man team from Zero Tolerance for Social Immoralities Initiative (ZETSI) Africa, on Thursday, 5th December 2024, paid an advocacy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, at her office on the 6th floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, main campus, Ojo, Lagos.

The Team Lead and Chairperson, ZETSI Africa, Amb. Razak Jeje, noted that the purpose of the visit was to commend the Vice-Chancellor for her remarkable leadership, acknowledge her unwavering passion and commitment to community development, and to engage in meaningful discussions while exploring potential areas of partnership for the advancement and prosperity of Africa.

“Our purpose is to collaborate and join forces with you in the noble task of nation-building. We wholeheartedly pledge our complete support to witness your continuous progress because we have identified in you an exceptional philanthropist and a beacon of exemplary leadership”, he added.

ZETSI Africa honoured the professor of Physiology with a Certificate of Credence in “recognition of her enormous contributions to humanity, doggedness in discharge of duties with absolute fairness and accountability, charismatic way of leadership coordination and visionary leadership for a greater Africa”. She was also decorated as a member of ZETSI Africa Hall of Fame.

In her response, the Vice Chancellor, appreciated ZETSI Africa for the honour and members of the University Management for their continuous support, affirming that “…any achievement that this administration has made is not only to the credit of the Vice Chancellor but to the credit of all members of the University Management”.

Professor Olatunji-Bello pledged her support to the cause of ZETSI and expressed her hope that there will be a turnaround in the country through the youths who have seen social vices as a norm. “We should try to reorientate the youths through advocacy programmes and make them understand that Nigeria can be great and they are the future leaders”.

The Registrar, Mr Emmanuel FANU, in his goodwill message, congratulated the Vice-Chancellor and commended ZETSI for fighting against social vices in the society. He urged the organisation to do more by sensitising the people on the effects of these social vices.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Adenike Boyo, gave the closing remarks.

Other members of ZETSI Africa present at the meeting include; Amb. Kingsley Nwanze (Projects Consultant), Amb. Kafayat Awopegba (Country Representative, Benin Republic) and Amb. Samuel Igiegbor (Head of Media and Publicity).

Also in attendance was the Bursar, Mr Said Babatunde Olayinka represented by Mr Taiwo Omoyin; the University Librarian, Dr Omawumi Makinde; Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr Lateef Sekoni; Deputy Registrar and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Lateef Salami; Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPR), Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile and members of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

With over five million (5,000,000) volunteers across African countries, they are dedicated and committed to a selfless service of curbing the menace of social immoralities, such as corruption, cultism, cybercrime, drug abuse, examination malpractice among other vices rampant in Africa.
