Second Anniversary: My Heart Of Gratitude

My dear colleagues and world-class students,

Let me begin on a note of appreciation to you for the outpour of love demonstrated through your felicitations and prayers for me yesterday on the occasion of our second anniversary in office. I read and relished every one of them. Indeed, they flowed like wind to our sail. By the grace of the Almighty God, the ship of our administration will arrive at its glorious port leaving none of us behind (Amen).

The journey of the last two years has been one of the most remarkable for me and my team. It has been a journey of great expectations and hope, propelled by God and the support of every one of you, my distinguished colleagues and students. I must acknowledge that we have encountered many challenges in the quest to achieve our shared vision of making LASU the best university in West Africa. But your support, commitment, and hard work have been instrumental in turning those challenges into our stepping stones.

Our modest gains would not have been possible if your hands had not been on deck. Today, we can look back and say with all sense of modesty that we have made progress; we have taken a step closer to where we want to be. And I am convinced beyond doubt that what my team and I have done is a reflection of your unwavering support.

So, I once again say THANK YOU for making the last two years an incredible one.

But I have a simple request:

As we begin the third lap, I like to remind you that we still have a long way to go in the quest to build a world-class university; a research and innovation hub. So, I once again covet your cooperation and commitment to this project. I ask that you not only support us but trust us, knowing that your welfare will always be our priority. By the grace of God, we shall not fail.

God bless you.

We are LASU, We are Great.
