NASU CONFERS DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD ON LASU VICE-CHANCELLOR, PROFESSOR IBIYEMI OLATUNJI-BELLO
The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) has conferred an award of Distinguished Leadership and Commitment to Staff Welfare on the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM.
The award, which recognises her dedication to academic excellence, was presented by the General Secretary of NASU, Prince Peters A. Adeyemi, during the Regular Meeting of the Universities and Inter-University Centres Trade Group Conference, hosted by the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), Lagos State University Branch, recently.
In her response to the honour, Distinguished Professor Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, expressed appreciation for the recognition of her leadership,
emphasising that her success is a result of teamwork and synergy between the university management and all members of staff.
In a surprising show of affection, the NASU-LASU branch also celebrated the birthday of the Vice-Chancellor by presenting her with a cake and a framed photograph. The gesture added a personal touch to the formal proceedings, underscoring the cordial relationship between the university management and its non-academic workforce.
It would be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor was also recently honoured as one of 45 Distinguished Nigerians by the National Association of Nigerian Students in commemoration of the Body’s 45th Anniversary.
